best of the beach

After wrapping up three weeks of filming on their new action-adventure movie, Our Lips Our Sealed (it used to be called Blabbermouths), Mary-Kate and Ashley were ready for a break! We joined them on Hayman Island at the Great Barrier Reef in northeastern Australia for a day of fun in the sun while they tried out the latest fashions for the beach. This was the last of three days they spent there before a long 14 1/2 hour flight back to Los Angeles.

First things first, the girls set up camp close to the water. They spread out their towels, kicked off their bright sandals (waterproof, of course!) and dug their toes in the sand! Pretty silver barettes keep the girls' hair back for both sun and sport! Barettes are always a great way to accessorize, for long hair or short.

Soon after arriving, a cute guy Mary-Kate recognized from the movie set asked her to play. Of course, she obliged! Her halter top is all the rage this season, as is its bright floral print. The board shorts were tops on her list too. They do double-duty as both shorts and swim bottoms which makes them great both in and out of the water!

Meanwhile, Ashley relaxed on the sand, listened to some tunes and soaked up the rays. She realized that it was her last chance to work on her tan before heading home to wrap up filming in Los Angeles. Her pink "sunnies" (that's Aussie speak for sunglasses) were hip AND they protect her eyes.

After a quick snack with Mary-Kate, Ashley decided that it was time to hit the waves! She loved her new geometric print bathing suit, especially the boy-cut shorts. Mary-Kate soon joined her sister and a water fight broke out. We had to promise that we wouldn't say who started it!

The girls also did some snorkeling, which was amazing. Hundreds of wildly colored fish were all around Mary-Kate and Ashley. Both said that it was one of the great wonders of the world. Truly rad.

The Australian sun began to set, and it was time for the girls to head back to their hotel to pack for their trip home. The wind had started to kick up a bit, but Ashley was prepared with her purple hooded cover-up.

Luck was with them. They were able to catch one last magnificent sunset in the land down under. They had a great time in Australia and hope to be able to come back soon to visit all of their new friends.
