The Mean Team: Spring 2002

In October 2001, Mary-Kate and Ashley debuted a new animated television series, Mary-Kate and Ashley: In Action!, which aired as part of ABC's One Saturday Morning programming block.
Following the show's launch, Dualstar and Mattel collaborated on a new line of mary-kateandashley dolls inspired by the series' main characters, Misty and Amber. Unlike the brand's previous 10-inch fashion dolls, these figures were 6.5 inches tall, fully poseable, and featured a more animated appearance to reflect the show's art style.
One notable release from this line was The Mean Team set, based on Episode 3 of the series. In this episode, Mary-Kate (with straight hair) and Ashley (with curly hair) go undercover at the Global Games to stop the villainous Romy Bates from sabotaging the competition.
The Mean Team set included two poseable action figures, two scooters, helmets, and their talking dog companion, Quincy.
