Senior Year: January 2004
In 2004, as Mary-Kate and Ashley prepared to graduate from high school, Dualstar set out to create a new line of books and dolls, following the success of the Sweet 16 doll series. As part of the Year of Celebrations collection, Mattel released four dolls, each representing a milestone in the twins' journey - turning 18, becoming high school seniors, attending prom, graduating, and preparing for college. This series aimed to capture these key moments in doll form. Unfortunately, it would be the final collection released in this line.
While Mary-Kate and Ashley personally approved the dolls and the overall box design, an error in the packaging reveals that their design team and Mattel signed off on the final product without catching a mistake - Mary-Kate's name was mistakenly placed under a photo of Ashley and vice versa.
