Fashion Pajamas: October 2002

With the success of the mary-kateandashley brand at Walmart, the retailer expanded the line each season by introducing new product categories and divisions. With their names and faces already featured on a wide range of merchandise, the brand launched its first board game, Friendship Connection. As part of their ongoing cross-promotion strategy, Walmart and Dualstar released their third Walmart-exclusive doll, designed to promote both the new board game and a new pajama collection. These dolls were packaged individually in smaller boxes with minimal marketing, relying primarily on weekly retail ads for promotion. Each doll included themed chip art from the board game, a cozy pajama set, and fluffy slippers.
